ORTHODONTICS
This
option is available if there is a significant difference
in jaw sizes, which produces irregularities affecting the
'bite' and facial features. The use of orthodontics and
surgery in tandem means even complex cases can be dealt
with successfully.
In
these cases the orthodontist works closely with a consultant
oral (mouth specialist) and maxillofacial (face structure
specialist) surgeon.
By
using surgery to correct the position of the jaws, dramatic
improvements in both facial appearance and bite can be achieved.
